At balmerino™ we create sustainable wool products by farming with Nature.
Sheep
Our sheep flock and products are called balmerino™. The sheep are a combination of a Merino crossed with other Scottish breeds. This cross has been developed to create a sheep that has the hardiness to thrive in the Scottish climate and additionally fine, luxurious wool, so soft it can be worn next to the skin. The flock are managed organically; certified by the Soil Association and are also certified by Pasture For Life.

The first batch of our 2023 balmerino™ wool clip has been spun into a DK yarn for hand-knitting. This is now available to purchase through our website and the following stores.

Curlew
The bird featured on our logo and products is the endangered curlew. This is our way of celebrating how the curlews’ presence has grown on our land because of our journey of regeneration.
This success story captures what balmerino™ is about - producing environmentally-friendly products from environmentally-friendly farmed land. All those who have purchased our products have also supported biodiversity and habitat creation through farming with Nature.
